Hier kann man nubische Handwerksarbeiten, Parfum, Duft\u00f6le, Lampen, Bekleidung, T\u00fccher aus Leinen und Seide sowie orientalische Gew\u00fcrze und frische Fr\u00fcchte kaufen.<\/p>\n
Am s\u00fcdlichen Ende der Uferpromenade findet sich die koptisch-orthodoxe Hauptkirche der Stadt. Zwischen dem Nubischen Museum und dem Steinbruch mit dem unvollendeten Obelisken liegt der fatimidische Friedhof und auf einer Anh\u00f6he nordwestlich des Nils gelegen, warten die Ruinen des Klosters des Heiligen Simeon. Ebenso sehenswert sind das Mausoleum des Aga Khan und der sch\u00f6ne Botanische Garten. Assuan ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt, um einen Ausflug zum Sonnentempels von Abu Simbel zu machen.
