Im Landesinneren werden vorzugweise schwere, tanninreiche Rotweine angebaut, im Norden herrscht der spritzige Vinho Verde vor, der bekannte junge Wei\u00dfwein \u2013 eine echte Spezialit\u00e4t Portugals. Charakteristisch ist das leichte Prickeln und Perlen. Eine weitere Spezialit\u00e4t Portugals ist der Portwein (Vinho do Porto). Die Trauben dieses durch Beigabe von Weinbrand verbesserten Weines wachsen in der zerkl\u00fcfteten, bergigen Gegend des Douro-Oberlaufs im Norden Portugals. Portweine sind wei\u00df oder rot, wobei der rote der ber\u00fchmtere, der wei\u00dfe in der Regel der trockenere (Seco) ist.
