The marine nature reserve has been a protected area since 1983. It lies between the Gulf of Aqaba to the east and the Gulf of Suez to the west.
Ras Mohamed is considered a wonderful diving area and offers not only fascinating coral reefs but also impressive desert landscapes. The park encompasses sea and land areas of the Sanafri Islands as well as coastal strips of Sharm El Sheikh.
A series of color-coded paths across the park give visitors the opportunity to discover picturesque corners, hidden coves, secluded beaches and breathtaking scenic views.
