At the beach:
Never step on coral; only touch it with your eyes.
Dispose of all waste in garbage cans, including cigarette butts.
Avoid using oil-based sunscreens.
In the souvenir shop:
Do not buy coral as a souvenir or jewelry.
Those who buy souvenirs made from other reef creatures or, for example, turtle shells, are also harming nature.
International agreements regulate trade in endangered animal and plant species. In some cases, this trade is completely prohibited, while in others it is strictly controlled: Authorization from the exporting country may be required. In some cases, severe penalties are imposed.
In the restaurant:
Make sure the ecosystem doesn't end up on your plate! Don't order endangered seafood. The dive center will be familiar with the threatened species.
During the boat trip and diving:
Do not touch the coral. Even the slightest touch can damage it.
Do not stir up the sand with swim fins.
Do not feed the fish.
Make notes or take photos as a reminder, but do not take any pieces of coral or shells.
Make sure your ship's captain does not anchor over a coral reef.
Keep an eye on your equipment to avoid accidentally damaging the coral.
