Discover Olhão, a town shaped by its fishermen, common people, storytellers and legends. Olhão is also known for its cubist art, which is unique in southern Europe. With your guide, you will discover the streets and avenues of the historic center.
Every Saturday it gets very busy around and in the market halls of Olhão, where farmers from the region offer their colorful splendor of fruit, vegetables, honey, fish, herbs and much more at many stalls.
The town lies in the heart of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, a labyrinth of channels, islands, and sandbanks stretching for approximately 60 km along the Algarve coast. It also boasts the second-largest fishing port in the Algarve. Besides fishing, salt production and the harvesting of shellfish and other marine life are among the traditional activities of the local population. A local ferry will take you to Culatra, one of the many islands where you can relax and swim on the stunning white sand beach with its crystal-clear waters. To make your day unforgettable, this excursion includes a traditional lunch of freshly grilled seafood and shellfish from the Ria Formosa. In the afternoon, the journey continues through the Ria Formosa back to Olhão.
