...and you probably already know most of it.
Nevertheless, we would like to draw your attention to a few dangers that often lurk in popular holiday resorts and tourist attractions.
Cash, driver's licenses, credit cards, passports and airline tickets don't belong on the beach, they belong in the hotel safe! Take only what you estimate for the day when you go swimming, on excursions or to go to the pubs. If you are really unlucky, it is easier to get over the loss and not ruin the whole holiday!
Black currency exchange: Black currency exchange on the street will only get you lottery tickets or newspaper in your pocket. Better not to take the risk. You will find official banks and exchange offices in your holiday destination – with opening hours almost around the clock. Always find out in advance at which rate your money will be exchanged and what the fees will be. Our tip: Ask your tour guide where you can get the best course.
Booking excursions privately or on the street is often very cheap, but mostly illegal and can cost you dearly: if it turns out afterwards that the bargain hasn't been insured for months! There are no courtesies there!
Drugs are strictly prohibited as a matter of principle. Even the possession of small amounts is punished with long prison sentences. Bulgarian prisons should be avoided.
In recent years, pickpockets have been rampant on public transport. Therefore, please be particularly careful when traveling by bus.
