The attitude of your vacation destination
“When you go on a trip, you first have to have a love of the country and its people, or at least no prejudices. He must try to find the good instead of ruining it through critical comparisons." (Theodor Fontane)
The perfection in our latitudes is often replaced by improvisation and joie de vivre, especially in southern countries. As a rule, we don't get bothered by the little things that we get so upset about at home.
Remind yourself of this during your holiday, for example when the power goes out, there is no hot water, the waiter doesn't speak German very well, the cleanliness isn't perfect, the food doesn't taste that good, the wine doesn't sparkle in the crystal glass ...
Wear it with composure, because that too is part of a holiday abroad. Often the locals cannot understand your anger, because for them the situation is normal. Just let it go and enjoy the sun, sand and sea with all your heart, enjoy having time to unwind and don't get upset about little things, it's not worth it! And besides, it would be a pity for your well-deserved vacation. And maybe you will even manage to get a little more peace and balance from your vacation into your everyday life.
So always remember: Different countries - different customs!
