Description
Impressive landscapes and typical Canarian flair
Get to know the great diversity of Gran Canaria's landscape on this island tour.
The journey first takes you to the volcanic Caldera de Bandama, formed by an eruption approximately 5.000 years ago. The 1.000-meter-wide and 200-meter-deep Caldera de Bandama owes its name to a settler who cultivated various types of vines in the 16th century. From the viewpoint at the rim, you can enjoy a view of this natural area with enormous geological value.
Then we continue towards Arucas, a pretty little town with a well-known rum factory. Here you will learn everything you need to know about the production of rum during a small tour and tasting.
The journey continues to the small town of "Firgas", the city of "water". Water has always played a major role in the history of the place, as evidenced by an artificial waterfall 30m long. In it you can not only discover all the Canary Islands, but also the coat of arms of the city of Gran Canaria.
After the sightseeing tour, you continue through fragrant pine forests, green palm oases and exotic orchards on the north-west side of the island towards Agaete. Here you will visit the Finca La Laja, where fruit, wine and even coffee cultivation has been practiced for many generations. Try a cup of the finca coffee or a glass of the tasty wine.
Afterwards you will return to your hotel full of impressions.
