While the Greek men sit in the kafenion, they mostly play with the komboloi, the colored chain that you have probably already seen in souvenir shops and kiosks. You have probably wondered and wondered what it is and what it is supposed to be good for.

Originally the chain, the komboloi, was brought from India by the crusaders, where it was used as a kind of rosary. In today's Greece, however, it serves only one purpose: gaming. But playing with a comboloi also needs to be learned.

Try to play with the Komboloi as skillfully as a Greek. You will notice that it is not as simple as it looks. But when you have mastered the game with the komboloi, it's a lot of fun and you don't want to stop playing - just like the Greek men.
