The pharmacies here are called “Pharmakion” and are marked with a green Maltese cross. The opening times correspond to normal business hours. Emergency services are posted at the pharmacies.

Sofa's
Banks can be found in Corfu Town. Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 14 p.m. ATMs and credit card machines are also available in all larger towns.
Filming & photography
The landscape of Corfu offers an infinite variety of great motifs. And nothing is as fascinating as foreign cultures and faces. Just one request: some people are very sensitive to cameras. Ask if you can take a picture and respect people's privacy. Usually you will be allowed to take pictures.
Please note: It is forbidden to take photos and film in religious areas. The same goes for military objects. Violation can result in high fines and even imprisonment.
Shops
The large supermarkets are open Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 20 p.m. Smaller supermarkets, especially in the resorts outside the city, are also open on Sundays and until late in the evening. This also applies to the souvenir shops in the old town.
General opening hours in Neustadt:
Monday, Wednesday, Saturday 8 – 14 h
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:30 - 13:30 h and 17 – 20 h

tap water
"Nero" is the Greeks' favorite drink. You can safely use it for cooking and brushing your teeth. We recommend buying bottled water for drinking.
Cellular networks
The cell towers in Albania emit strong mobile signals, allowing cell phones, especially in the northeast of the island of Corfu, to automatically connect to the Albanian network (Vodafone Albania/ONE Albania) without many vacationers noticing. Since Albania is not part of the EU and therefore the EU roaming agreement does not apply, high charges often accrue in such cases without being noticed. We therefore recommend deactivating automatic network selection on your cell phone and manually selecting one of the Greek mobile networks (Cosmote, Vodafone Greece, Nova) instead.
Mosquitoes
Corfu is a very green island with lush vegetation, which is why insects are also common. Mosquitoes, commonly known here as "mosquitos," can be particularly annoying. Insect repellent is recommended, especially at dusk. Creams, sprays, etc. are available at pharmacies, and plug-in insect repellent plugs are available at every supermarket and often at your hotel reception.
Sonne
In your own interest, please ensure that you have adequate sun protection, especially with children, and avoid the midday sun. Also, remember to balance your fluid balance and drink as much water as possible.
Souvenirs
Corfu is famous for its kumquat products, such as liqueur and jam. Other popular souvenirs include finely crafted silver jewelry, beautiful ceramics in the country's colors, hand-embroidered blankets, icons painted after ancient models, and olive wood carvings.
Sports facilities
Local water skiing, windsurfing and parasailing providers can be found on many of the beaches. Riding is possible in Avlaki near Kassiopi and in Roda. The golf course is located at Ermones.
voltage
The voltage is 220 volts, but still pay attention to the relevant instructions. If you need an adapter, you can get it either at the reception or in the nearest supermarket. For safety reasons, there are no sockets in many hotel bathrooms.
Taxi
Your hotel reception will be happy to help you if you need a taxi. Taxis are equipped with a taximeter, but you should still discuss the fare beforehand. If you need a receipt, make sure it is not handwritten. In Corfu Town, you can find taxis on the Esplanade, at the
San Rocco Square and the old port.
Phone
To call Germany, for example, you need to dial the German country code 0049 and then omit the 0. Please also note the information under "Mobile Networks" further up this page.
Toilets
Because of the narrow sewer pipes, in most toilets it is necessary to throw the toilet paper into the container provided for it.
Tip
In restaurants and bars, it's customary to tip. The guideline is around 10% of the bill. In hotels, you should consider the chambermaid, the porter, and your waiter in the restaurant. If you don't wait until your departure day to tip, you'll certainly receive more attentive service. The bus driver who drives your excursion bus and the tour guides will also appreciate a small tip. Whether and how much you tip is, of course, up to you and should always be in recognition of good service. In our opinion, a tip is a given for extra services. Even at all-inclusive resorts, the staff appreciates a tip.
time
In general, the hens in Greece literally tick a little slower and everyone knows the Greek answer “Siga-siga” when you point to the h with German punctuality. Once you arrive, remember to advance your h by an hour.
Valuables
If possible, keep valuables and documents in a rental safe at your hotel. Otherwise, the same precautions apply as at home. Don't leave money in your room, keep an eye on your bag in crowded areas and on the beach, take only as much money as necessary, don't put your wallet in your back pocket, and don't leave anything, no matter how worthless, in your car. Never leave wallets or car documents in the glove compartment or trunk. Please report any lost identification documents to the local police as soon as possible. Neither the hotel nor the tour operator is liable for items stolen from your room.
