The coast from Corfu Town to the north to Mount Pantokrator is the most touristically developed area of the island. This part of the island is mountainous and has spectacular scenery.
Ipsos
The former fishing village is now a lively tourist stronghold and inspires with a wide bay and a generous range of water sports. The busy coastal road leads past the narrow pebble and sandy beach. The area from Ipsos to Pirgi is particularly popular with young people because of its large number of cafes, restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
Pantocrator
The mountain Pantokrator, the "ruler of everything", is at almost 906 meters the highest point on Corfu. Even from afar you can see its summit with the 14th century monastery and an antenna system. The highest antenna is in the middle of the monastery courtyard; but does not reduce the breathtaking panoramic view over the island, over the Ionian Sea to Albania and the Greek mainland. Since the last steep meters to the summit lead over a concrete path and there are only a few parking spaces on site, it is advisable to walk the last part. A small café right at the monastery entrance offers the opportunity to rest.
