Description
Certainly a special way to get to know your vacation island
Remote paths, fantastic views, villages untouched by tourism and, above all, a touch of adventure - this is what awaits you on a trip in an off-road vehicle.
First you will be taken by jeep or bus to the starting point in Gouvia and from there you will start following a narrow road to the peaceful settlement of Poulades surrounded by lush green countryside.
Crossing the north-eastern part of the Ropavalley wetland, we head to the traditional village of Doukades and from there to Aleimatades. The village is situated in the mountainous north-west region of the island and offers fantastic views of Corfu town and the entire east coast.
After a short break we continue via the Troumpeta Pass on a gravel road through unspoilt nature, along the slope of Mount Pantokrator, the highest peak on the island. Away from paved roads, the route leads through several typical Corfiot villages to Paleo Perithia - one of the oldest stone-built settlements on the island and a World Heritage Site. Here you have the opportunity to explore the village. Traditional tavernas invite you to have lunch (not included) surrounded by the scent of wild oregano, sage and thyme.
In the afternoon we follow the old local serpentine road through Petalia, Strinillas and Spartillas to further impressive viewpoints, past ancient olive trees down to Barbati. From here, the scenic scenic road along the coast will take you back to Gouvia.
