To eat!
This is a phrase that you will surely hear a lot, because "eating out" is one of the most important social events in Greece.
The Greek cuisine offers many delicious dishes. The selection of fish dishes is particularly large.
Do not be afraid to order. There are hardly any communication problems even in small restaurants or taverns. If you can't read the menu, just go to the kitchen. Many Greeks do it that way too. Either all cooked dishes are displayed there or you can look into the pots on the stove.
The temperature at which the dishes are served is stomach-friendly: namely lukewarm.
The table community is of great importance in Greece. So you can eat together from the many different starter plates. The main course is then served individually to everyone.
Those who eat together also pay together. Demanding an invoice for each individual is called "the German way" here.
