The ver.di union has called for nationwide warning strikes in local public transport on Monday, February 2, 2026. This primarily affects municipal transport companies operating buses and trams in numerous cities. The aim is to largely paralyze public transport. Each transport association or municipal transport company will publish its own notices and information on alternative transport options. This information is often released at short notice, sometimes only 24 hours before the strike begins. Please contact your local transport association or company directly for information. If possible, allow extra time for your journey when departing from Germany and arrange alternative travel to and from your airport in Germany in advance.
