Description
Levada do Norte
The starting point of this hike lies at almost 800 meters altitude, overlooking the picturesque village of Eira do Moura. Breathtakingly situated on a rocky promontory, this village was only accessible via a long staircase until 2003. The levada meanders along deep valleys and gorges, leading you through a mixed forest of eucalyptus, acacia, and pine. In September, the abundant blackberries are a tempting treat. Another highlight is the view of the Ribeira Brava coastline.
