Description
Levada do Norte
The starting point of this hike is at almost 800m altitude, overlooking the picturesque village of Eira do Moura. Breathtakingly situated on a rocky spur, this place could only be reached via a long staircase until 2003. The levada meanders along deep valleys and gorges and takes you through a mixed forest of eucalyptus, acacia and pine. In September, the numerous blackberry fruits invite you to eat them. Another highlight is the view of the Riberia Brava coast.
