Original village with a modern winery

Embona is a large village at the foot of the Ataviros (1.215 m), the highest mountain on the island, which towers over the place rugged and bare. Below Embona, grapevines and pine forests cover the steep slopes.

Not far from the village square you will find narrow streets where old women sit at the loom and the men chat in or in front of the taverns. And at the butcher's, large pieces of meat are still lying open on the counter, waiting for the buyer.

Embona is the seat of the Emery winery. The large winery is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, and the wine from Embona enjoys an excellent reputation.
