Description
Picturesque villages, wild nature and majestic buildings
Get to know your holiday island: the white pearl of Lindos, the butterfly valley, Monolithos, the former Johanniterburg and much more. Discover the original villages of the south of the island, the lush nature of the west coast and many other sights.
You will visit Lindos first. Be amazed by the majestic Acropolis surrounded by an ancient fortress wall, which is best explored on foot. Afterwards you have free time to stroll through the streets of Lindos on your own.
Then we continue through the beautiful landscape towards Apolakkia and Monolithos. Enjoy breathtaking views of the mighty Cape Monolithos. A rock towers proudly on the narrow, stony coastline, crowned by the dark walls of a former Johanniterburg. Continue inland, through the mountains and into the wine country. For lunch you stop in a rustic tavern. Sample wine, honey or the island's souma (liquor).
In the high season (June to early September) you can walk through the valley of the butterflies with countless harlequin butterflies, wild flowers and small watercourses. In the off-season, visit the green Filerimos Hill. Marvel at the stunning view across to Turkey from the white Filerimos Cross or stroll to the monastery where many peacocks live in the garden.
An all-round beautiful day with lots of information from a German-speaking guide who knows Rhodes like the back of his hand.
