For most of you, the real pleasure of vacationing in another country certainly includes the culinary delights.
The Greek cuisine has much more to offer than the gyros, which is well known everywhere and rightly so. Just embark on the adventure, go to one of the numerous Greek taverns and start with all sorts of mezedes, the delicious starters, let yourself be tempted to a delicious meat or fish dish and end with a sweet dessert.
Since wine is grown not only in Rhodes, but almost everywhere in Greece, you are also spoiled for choice between red, rosé and white. The best thing to do is get advice from the landlord, or you can ask the person sitting next to you whether he likes the wine and, if you are lucky, order the same variety. Even if it is not everyone's taste, you should definitely try it - the retsina, the resinated (white) wine. Of course you can also order beer (= Bira), water (= Nero) or an ouzo, the well-known aniseed schnapps. The ouzo can be drunk before, between and of course after a meal.
If you want coffee, you should definitely try Greek coffee, it is much more viscous, usually already sweetened and is served in small cups.
