The ancient trading city of Phaselis was founded in 690 BC. founded. It is surrounded by pine groves on a peninsula about 10 km south of Kemer. The city had three natural seaports and was exceptionally prosperous for a long time. It was also the most important port city of the Lycian League.
The exposed ruins of the excavation site are very well preserved. Harbor walls, theatre, bathhouse, aqueduct, fortifications and the boulevard can be admired. On weekends, the ruins are popular with locals for picnics and swimming on the sandy beach.
