Doctor:
Medical care is good. We recommend professional doctors and clinics, some of whom also speak German. In an emergency, you will find addresses and telephone numbers in this information brochure or you can contact your tour guide. Do you have a foreign health insurance?
Then get a receipt for medical treatment, which you submit to the insurance company in Germany. Guests without foreign health insurance should contact their health insurance company with the doctor's bill in Germany.

Banks:
Open Mon.-Fri. 8.30-12.30 h. Every major bank has ATMs where you can withdraw money outside of opening hours.
Hotel:
The heart of the hotel is the reception: Here you can rent a safe, exchange money, order a wake-up call, ask for additional towels, a second pillow or even a new lightbulb. You can also hand in your written postcards here. You will be reliably forwarded to the post office.
Tap water:
It is suitable for brushing teeth, making coffee / tea and washing. Although it is officially drinkable, we recommend drinking bottled water
to buy in the hotel bar or in supermarkets.

Post:
It takes about a week to deliver your postcards. There are small mailboxes at each reception desk. Official yellow post boxes can be found on the main roads and at the airport.
souvenirs:
Cyprus is known for its excellent wines, which you can buy in the supermarket or souvenir shop. Other nice souvenirs: silver jewelry, embroidery from the mountain village of Lefkara. Icon pictures are a very special souvenir.
Beach & Sun:
You can rent sun loungers and parasols at all of the larger beaches. Do not expect too many hours of sunshine and use creams with a high sun protection factor. Do not do everything in one day, because tomorrow you will want to enjoy your vacation too!
Voltage:
The amperage is 220 or 240 volts. In any case, you need an adapter. It is usually available at reception for a deposit / fee (while stocks last) or can be bought in supermarkets.
Phone:
You can make short phone calls from the comfort of your room or reception. However, the call is then more expensive than from the public telephone booth. You can get phone cards in every supermarket / mini market.
You dial 0049 to Germany, 0043 to Austria and 0041 to Switzerland, then the area code without the first zero and then the phone number.
Tipping:
In hotels and restaurants, it is common to tip 5 to 10% of the invoice amount. In the hotel, the housekeeping staff, porters and service staff are also happy to receive recognition.
Valuables:
Keep your valuables and papers in the locker / safe, which you can rent through reception. What to look out for: Always keep an eye on your bag, especially in a crowd. Do not put your wallet in your back pocket or leave any items, however worthless they may be, visible in the car. If you should lose something despite the precautionary measures, report the loss to the local police. You will need a police report for any claims with your insurance company.

Reading material is available in all major hotels. German daily newspapers and magazines are available in some kiosks or in the hotel shops.
