Ag\u00fcimes hat ca. 17.400 Einwohner und liegt unweit von den Guayadeque-H\u00f6hlen und Barranco de Balos im S\u00fcdosten der Insel. Von hier aus lassen sich sowohl die Berge als auch das Meer sowie Las Palmas und der Flughafen in weniger als 20 Minuten erreichen.<\/p>\n
Die Kirche San Sebastian gleicht einem Kunstmuseum und verf\u00fcgt \u00fcber herrliche Gem\u00e4lde und Skulpturen. Sie ist eine der besterhaltenen auf der Insel. Das Geb\u00e4ude wurde 1952 fertig gestellt, obgleich der Baubeginn in das 18. Jahrhundert zur\u00fcck reicht.<\/p>\n
Im Barranco-Tal befindet sich die heilige St\u00e4tte der Guanchen: Lomo de los Leteros. Alte Inschriften und schemenhafte Abbildungen von Menschen zieren die abfallenden Felsen.<\/p>\n
