Espalmador ist eine traumhafte Insel: Klein und unbewohnt liegt sie nur wenige Meter vom n\u00f6rdlichsten Ende Formenteras entfernt \u2013 hier sind die Str\u00e4nde noch einen Tick wei\u00dfer und das Wasser noch klarer als auf Formentera.<\/p>\n
Eine weitere Besonderheit stellt die in der Mitte der Insel liegende schwefelhaltige Schlammlagune dar, in der die Besucher seit jeher Schlammb\u00e4der nehmen. Im Zuge der wachsenden Umwelt- und Naturschutzvorschriften auf den Balearen wurde diese Schlammlagune jedoch im Fr\u00fchjahr 2008 eingez\u00e4unt. Auf das seither g\u00fcltige Verbot des Betretens weisen nun Schilder hin.<\/p>\n
Zwischen Formentera und Espalmador liegen nur knapp 150 m. Da die Passage nach Formentera nicht sonderlich tief ist, kann man theoretisch auch zu Fu\u00df nach Espalmador gelangen. Aus Sicherheitsgr\u00fcnden sollten Sie allerdings die Anreise per Boot vorziehen. Espalmador steht unter Naturschutz.
