Durch den Ausbau des Stra\u00dfenverkehrsnetzes in den letzten Jahren k\u00f6nnen die Buchten von Ermones und Mirtiotissa bequem erreicht werden. Deshalb sind w\u00e4hrend der Hochsaison die sch\u00f6nsten Str\u00e4nde der Region, wie der Golden Beach in der Bucht von Glyfada, gut besucht.<\/p>\n
Das malerische Paleokastritsa ist neben der Inselhauptstadt der bekannteste Ort der Insel. Hier werden Ausfl\u00fcge mit Wassertaxen zu den umliegenden Grotten und Str\u00e4nden angeboten.<\/p>\n
Auf der Halbinsel, oberhalb der Bucht, liegt das Kloster Panagia Theot\u00f3kos, das im Jahr 1228 gegr\u00fcndet wurde und heute noch von M\u00f6nchen bewirtschaftet wird. Vom Kloster genie\u00dft man einen fantastischen Ausblick. Den sch\u00f6nsten Blick auf die Buchten von Paleokastritsa genie\u00dft man von Lakones aus \u2013 auch \u201eBalkon des Ionischen Meeres\u201c genannt.
