Im S\u00fcden, getrennt durch den Vaadhoo-Kanal, befindet sich das S\u00fcd-Mal\u00e9-Atoll. Wenige Kilometer n\u00f6rdlich liegt das Ein-Insel-Atoll Kaashidhoo, welches f\u00fcr seine Kokosnusspalmen und den lokalen Kokosnusssirup ber\u00fchmt ist.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Felidhu-Atoll<\/strong><br \/>\nDas Felidhu-Atoll (auch Vaavu-Atoll genannt), das die Form eines kleinen Stiefels hat, liegt im Zentrum der \u00f6stlichen Inselkette der Malediven, in der Lakkadivensee.<\/p>\n<p>Von 26 Inseln sindnur f\u00fcnf bewohnt: die Hauptinsel Felidhu und die Inseln Fulidhoo, Keyodhoo, Rakeedhoo und Thinadhoo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ari-Atoll<br \/>\n<\/strong>Das Ari-Atoll (auch Alif- oder Alifu-Atoll genannt) ist das zweitgr\u00f6\u00dfte Atoll im Westen der Malediven.<\/p>\n<p>Von den 105 Inseln des nat\u00fcrlichen Atolls sind lediglich 18 von Einheimischen bewohnt; davon Mahibadhoo, die Hauptinsel, mit einer Bev\u00f6lkerung von etwa 1.800 Menschen. 35 Inseln, darunter Nika, Ellaidhoo und Angaga, von denen in den 1980er Jahren viele f\u00fcr den Tourismus erschlossen wurden, sind sehr beliebte und &#8211; vor allem von Stammg\u00e4sten &#8211; begehrte, sch\u00f6ne Resorts. Die Flugzeit von Mal\u00e9 aus betr\u00e4gt mit dem Wasserflugzeug etwa 30 Minuten.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Addu-Atoll<br \/>\n<\/strong>Das Addu-Atoll ist das s\u00fcdlichste im Archipel der Malediven und liegt in der Lakkadivensee, einem Randmeer des Indischen Ozeans und nur ein wenig s\u00fcdlich des \u00c4quators.<\/p>\n<p>Die gr\u00f6\u00dften Inseln des Atolls sind Hithadhoo, Meedhoo und Gan. Der Flug mit der innermaledivischen Fluggesellschaft Maldivian von Mal\u00e9 auf die Insel Gan dauert nur 70 Minuten.<\/p>\n<p>Gan ist mit drei weiteren Inseln \u00fcber eine 12 km lange, asphaltierte Stra\u00dfe verbunden. Gan war im Zweiten Weltkrieg ein wichtiger St\u00fctzpunkt der britischen Luftstreitkr\u00e4fte; der Flughafen Gan wurde zu dieser Zeit angelegt.<\/p>\n<p>Im Januar 2011 wurden die bewohnten Inseln der Westk\u00fcste sowie Meedhoo und Hulhudhoo im Nordosten des Atolls zur Stadt Addu City zusammengefasst.
