Description
A day trip into the unspoiled nature of Northern Greece
Experience a diverse day trip from Halkidiki to Lake Kerkini – one of Europe's most important wetlands. Located just 80 km from Thessaloniki in the Serres region, this natural paradise offers breathtaking views of the Beles Mountains.
Lake Kerkini is an internationally recognized nature reserve. It is home to around 700 water buffalo and over 300 bird species, including storks, cormorants, and herons. Hunting is strictly prohibited in this protected area.
Our tour begins with a leisurely boat trip across the lake, ideal for birdwatching and enjoying the unique scenery. Afterwards, we continue on foot along the lakeside paths, which lead through dense vegetation and diverse flora.
Another highlight is the Jeep safari into the less accessible parts of the area, where with a bit of luck you can observe free-roaming buffalo in their natural habitat.
For lunch you can expect a selection of regional specialties, including water buffalo products – fresh, local and typical of the region.
In the late afternoon, we'll take the bus back to Chalkidiki. Take home unforgettable memories of a day spent surrounded by unspoiled nature.
