If a parking space is marked with white lines, you're in luck: it's a regular public parking space where your car can stay for as long as you like. And it gets even better: unless a sign indicates otherwise, this parking space is free.
Be careful when following yellow lines: these indicate a no-stopping and no-parking zone. Even if a large, free space looks tempting, you are not allowed to park your car there and must find another parking space.
Parking spaces marked in blue and green are available for use, but they are subject to a fee. A parking meter is usually located nearby. Please pay close attention to the information displayed there and any additional signs. Often, parking spaces marked in blue are only subject to a fee at certain times of day or on certain days of the week – so you may not always need a parking ticket.
Residents receive a discount in green-marked parking spaces. Important: Even if you live nearby, you need a valid resident parking permit.
