Description
Adventure volcano with bathing fun
From the port in Kardamena you will take a traditional boat towards the small island of Agios Antonios. The uninhabited island attracts with crystal clear water and a sandy beach. After anchoring there is an opportunity to swim. Those who wish can swim to the island and visit the small chapel on the hill
After the swimming stop, we continue to the island of Nissyros, which was created by numerous eruptions of the volcano, which is still active today. The volcanic crater in the center of the island has a diameter of 4 km². It is the largest accessible crater in Europe. In the middle of a lunar landscape, sulfur vapors rise from holes in the ground. A natural footpath takes you to the caldera and allows you to experience the volcano up close.
Then it goes to the small village of Mandraki. With its blue and white houses and narrow streets, it reflects the original Greece. You have enough time to explore the village and the small monastery Panagia I Spiliani, which offers a fantastic view over the Aegean Sea.
