Description
Explore the island of Hippocrates
Our island tour is the best way to get to know Kos. During the tour, your guide will tell you everything you need to know about the island and its inhabitants. And along the way, you'll see and explore the most beautiful landscapes and villages of Kos.
The first stop is the Asclepion, one of the most important healing centers of antiquity, dedicated to the god of medicine, Asclepius. It was here that the modern healing method of Hippocrates, who had already recognized the importance of the psyche in the treatment of illness in ancient times, was first applied.
Continuing your journey, you'll visit an olive press where locals have their harvested olives processed into olive oil every year. A small museum with a farm shop offers opportunities to browse and purchase products.
After that, the route continues uphill to Zía, a charming mountain village with whitewashed houses and a fantastic view over Kos and the neighboring islands.
While strolling through the village, you will have the opportunity to try the island's typical cinnamon syrup and buy souvenirs.
The route continues through the green Dikaios Mountains, passing through small villages towards Kefalos.
On your way to the south of the island, you will visit a beekeeping operation where another specialty typical of Kos is produced: thyme honey. Here you will have the opportunity to taste different types of honey and sweets.
You will also visit a historic windmill in Antimacchia, where the biscuits made are a popular treat. You can round off the afternoon with a tasting or a leisurely stroll.
