Description
Explore the island of Hippocrates
Our island tour is the best way to get to know Kos. During the trip, your guide will tell you everything you need to know about the island and its inhabitants. Along the way, you'll see and explore Kos's most beautiful landscapes and villages.
The first stop is the Asclepion, one of the most important healing centers of antiquity, dedicated to the god of medicine, Asclepius. It was here that the modern healing method of Hippocrates, who had already recognized the importance of the psyche in the treatment of illness in ancient times, was first applied.
Continuing your journey, you'll visit an oil press, where locals process their annual harvested olives into olive oil. You can browse and shop at a small museum with a farm shop.
Afterwards, the journey continues uphill to Zia, a charming mountain village with whitewashed houses and fantastic views over Kos and the neighboring islands. Here, you'll visit a Greek tavern, where you can watch the famous "moussaka" being prepared over a glass of ouzo.
Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to stroll through the village, taste the island's typical cinnamon syrup and buy souvenirs.
Through the green Dikaios Mountains we pass through small villages to Pyli with its legendary well.
On the way to the south of the island, you'll visit a beekeeping farm where another Kos specialty is produced: thyme honey. Here, you'll have the opportunity to sample various honey varieties and sweets.
In the very south of the island, above the former island capital of Kefalos, lies the authentic village of Mylotopi. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views over Kefalos Bay and end the afternoon with a stroll or a refreshing drink.
