Description
Discover Kalymnos and Telendos, the sleeping princess, on a very special excursion.
From the port of Mastichari you can take the ferry to Kaiymnos in about 45 minutes. From the port town of Pothia, the trail heads uphill to the picturesque monastery of Agios Savvas, where panoramic views over Pothia and the port await you at the first stop. Passing the imposing rock formations that are so typical of the island of Kalymnos, you will drive through peaceful villages to the Bay of Myrties.
There you will be rewarded with a view of the neighboring island of Telendos, also known as the sleeping princess. Teiendos is just across a narrow waterway from Kalymnos, sparsely inhabited and has no roads.
They cross over in small boats in just 10 minutes (EUR 6 pp, to be paid on site). Far away from traffic and noise, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the island and have lunch in peace. You have enough time to explore the small island on a walk or to refresh yourself with a dip in the water.
Spend the afternoon back on Kalymnos. You drive through the valley of Vathi with its citrus groves to Rina. There you will learn about the sponge divers of Kalymnos and have time for a stroll or a coffee break before the return journey.
