Along varied scenery and enchanting villages

At the beginning it goes high up into the fascinating mountain world. Accompanied by an overwhelming panorama, you will reach the third highest peak on the island, the Pico do Arieiro (1.818 m). Mostly lying above the clouds, you won't be able to get enough of the incomparable panoramic view. Madeira lies at your feet on the roof of the island.

Through the often juicy laurel forests, which are under nature protection, you go to Ribeiro Frio (= cold river), which lies in a deep valley surrounded by rugged mountains. The village is known for its trout farm.

Afterwards, you will travel via Faial, a picturesque village, along the north coast to Santana. This village is famous for its typical thatched, gabled farmhouses, painted in white, blue, and red. These small, rustic houses, where the thatched roofs extend almost to the ground, were the traditional dwellings of the locals and are the island's iconic symbol.
Tip: Why not try the delicious honey cookies in the souvenir shop or drink a homemade poncha, the national drink? Simply delicious!

After lunch, the journey goes past Porto da Cruz with a view of the imposing Eagle Rock. Its cliff face, which falls steeply to the Atlantic, is one of the most impressive cliffs on the island.

Your last stop is Machico, the second largest city on the island. It was the first area Portuguese sailors encountered at the time of its discovery. A photo stop offers a great view of the city.
