Swim and snorkel with the perfectly harmless whale sharks.

The whale shark is the largest shark (and fish) in the ocean. It can reach a length of up to 14 meters and is a very peaceful marine animal. Its main food consists of krill and plankton, which it catches with its enormous mouth and filters with its gills. This way, its energy is optimally used for transport, respiration, and feeding while swimming. Whale sharks are often accompanied by suckerfish (remoras), which either swim actively or attach themselves to the whale shark.

In addition to transport, removing parasites is one of the main tasks of these fish. Whale sharks spend most of their time on the high seas, which is why little is known about them, for example little is known about reproduction.

From June to September whale sharks can be spotted close by and trips are organized almost daily.
