The Yucatan Peninsula has the largest underground river system in the world. Thousands of years ago, the water carved out huge underwater caves - the so-called cenotes. The Mayans viewed these cenotes as the entrance to a mystical and spiritual underworld. At the same time, they were their only source of fresh water in the middle of the jungle.

Discover the cenotes on this tour. Snorkel with your experienced guide and enjoy the mesmerizing spectacle as the light shines through the jungle into the grotto from above. When visiting an open cenote, refresh yourself in the crystal-clear water and let the light and colors inspire you to take the most beautiful photos. You'll also discover stalactites and stalagmites in an enclosed cenote.

Akumal is the Mayan name for turtle and that's where the tour takes you after a little snack - to Akumal Beach, where you're sure to come across a turtle or two while snorkeling, as well as other underwater creatures such as the colorful parrot fish.
