Description
Mystical nature in the north of Tenerife
On this varied journey full of contrasts, you will get to know the north-east of the island in small mini-vans.
Just a few kilometers after the descent you will reach the Mirador de Humboldt viewpoint. The great German natural scientist Alexander von Humboldt sits loosely on the wall as a sculpture. From here you have a spectacular view of the Orotava Valley and Puerto de la Cruz.
With some free time, explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed former capital, Cristobal de La Laguna. Continue through today's capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife to the photo stop at the bright, well-known sandy beach Playa de las Teresitas.
You cross the Anaga Mountains, the oldest mountain range in Tenerife. This spectacular volcanic formation is home to one of the most important and oldest laurel forests, tree heather and cacti in the world and forms a priceless nature reserve. Here the weather is created by the north-east trade winds, which are vital for the island.
You will have lunch in Taganana, one of the oldest settlements on the island. At the Pico del Ingles viewpoint you have a breathtaking view of the entire Anaga Mountains, Santa Cruz and Teide.
We continue through the Mercedes forest to Tacoronte, where we enjoy a small wine tasting. Afterwards we drive back to Puerto de la Cruz.
