From the hotel you take the mini train towards the city center and see the most important sights.

Founded by the Fatimids under the Caliph Abdallah al-Mahdi in 921, Mahdia was once the capital of Ifriquiya. The Al Borg El Kebir fortress on the Mahdia peninsula is reminiscent of the Turkish occupation.
