Description
Discover Albania on a day trip from Corfu.
The ferry takes you to the coastal city of Saranda, where a German-speaking tour guide will greet you. From there, a bus will take you to a nature reserve about 30 minutes away, famous for the "Blue Eye" (a famous rock formation).
In Syri i Kaltër, Albania, there is a spectacular karst spring with deep blue, crystal-clear water surrounded by lush greenery.
Its oval shape and the color of the water, deep blue in the middle and light blue on the sides, make it look like a human eye.
No one knows how deep it is. Many divers who have tried to reach the bottom have only been able to get down to 45 meters due to the pressure. It has a flow rate of 6 cubic meters of water per second and a water temperature of 13 degrees Celsius. Visitors often throw a stone into the middle of this spring, and after a while, they see the same stone rise back to the surface.
After visiting the Blue Eye, you will return to Saranda, where you will have time to explore the city at your own pace. Stroll along the beautiful seaside promenade, browse local shops for souvenirs, or relax in one of the many restaurants and cafes overlooking the Ionian Sea before heading back to the port near Corfu Town.
