Description
Certainly a unique way to get to know your holiday island.
Remote paths, breathtaking views, villages untouched by tourism and above all a touch of adventure – that's what awaits you on a trip with an off-road vehicle.
First, you will be taken by jeep or bus to the starting point in Gouvia, and from there you will start, following a narrow road, to the peaceful settlement of Poulades, surrounded by lush green countryside.
Crossing the northeastern part of the Ropavalley wetlands, the route leads to the traditional village of Doukades and from there on to Aleimaades. The village lies in the mountainous northwest region of the island and offers fantastic views of Corfu Town and the entire east coast.
The route then continues over the Troumpeta Pass on a gravel road through unspoiled nature, along the slopes of Mount Pantokrator, the island's highest peak. Far from paved roads, the route leads through typical Corfiot villages to Strinilas. Here you have the opportunity to stop for lunch at a traditional taverna (not included).
After a break, the journey continues to Paleo Perithia – one of the oldest stone-built settlements on the island and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Secluded and surrounded by the scent of wild oregano, sage, and thyme, the village appears like a window into the past.
Following the old local serpentine road, the route leads through Lafki, Petalia and Spartillas, past ancient olive trees, along a picturesque panoramic road back to Gouvia.
