Description

Sailing tour in the nature reserve

Enjoy a wonderful trip to the Islas Desertas with the sailing ship Bonita da Madeira every Wednesday and Saturday. These three uninhabited islands are 15 miles southeast of Madeira and are a unique sanctuary for the monk seals Monachus. The islands are also a nature reserve for sea birds.

From Funchal you can sail comfortably along the Madeira coast and finally over to the Desertas. Bird watch, look out for seals, and enjoy the island's cliffs and caves.

The excursion to the Islas Desertas is a unique experience!
